sequel was started as an events management company back in 2002. With requests to also offer the catering component to our clients "sequel event catering" opened shortly thereafter. 

In 2003 proprietors Lisa Rutland and Eric te Boekhorst started the build for sequel Restaurant,
an upscale boutique setting right in the heart of Lawrence Park. Success was immediate when they opened their doors in September 2004.

After five great years in operation, sequel Restaurant closed in November of 2009
after an opportunity was presented to expand the catering operation.

With our focus reshaped and the kitchens expanded sequel continues to grow.

With the opening of sequel Gourmet Express in 2010, locals and loyals can now experience sequel
on a to-go basis daily. Our signature favorites from the restaurant now grace our express counter.
Dinners to go are on the horizon for fall 2010.
